JOB SUMMARY
Works in the Paint Department monitoring & correcting chemical levels in tanks, and draining, cleaning and refilling tanks as required. Required to perform accurate and timely recordkeeping regarding various processes done to the paint tanks. Work with Paint Engineer(s) and Paint Department personnel on projects and daily required tasks. Works on assignments that are moderately complex in nature where judgment is required in resolving problems and making routine recommendations. Normally receives no instruction on routine work, general instructions on new assignments. Ability to read complicated drawings, mathematics, handbook formulas, and a variety of testing and measuring instruments.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

* Must have a basic understanding of chemical properties and be able to work with various chemicals in liquid, granular or powder form.
* Manages and maintains chemical levels in tanks based on data received from pH concentration readings, parts appearance and appearance of liquid in tanks.
* Measures pH and titration levels in tanks.
* Responsible for organizing chemical totes/drums, paint inventories & supplies and ordering chemicals on a weekly basis.
* Responsible for all record keeping of pH findings, concentrations, quantity of chemicals used and any unusual chemical related findings.
* Responsible for replacing filters, spray off screens, and disposing of used barrels.
* Must follow all waste treatment guidelines and record keeping guidelines.
* May be required to work off hours depending on the needs of Project team schedule and requirements.
* Analyzes processes in respective area and recommend, implement improvements in quality and productivity.
* Works from schematics, blueprints and verbal instruction.
* May be required to work in complex work cells, and train employees within field of expertise.
* May use sampling, testing and measuring techniques, and perform quantitative and qualitative analyses to determine air, land, or water pollution levels.
* May assist in the installation and set-up of instruments and equipment.
* May operate electronic equipment and conduct sampling with the current line of instrumentation.
* May periodically inspect equipment and perform routine preventive maintenance work.
* May maintain records pertinent to special sampling projects performed in conjunction with governmental agencies and private institutions.
